Wooden Doors

Product Description:
This door is inspired by Indo-Islamic or Rajasthani "Haveli" styles. Doors like these weren't just entrances; they were statements of power and security. Those brass or iron bosses (studs) aren't just for show. Historically, on larger fort gates, these were sharpened into spikes to prevent war elephants from ramming the door. Here, they serve as decorative reinforcement, holding the heavy wooden planks together. Two smaller rectangular doors were built into the main panels. These allowed individuals to enter or exit without compromising the security (or effort) of swinging open the massive main gates. The "pointed arch" silhouette at the top suggests a blend of Gothic and Mughal influences, designed to distribute the immense weight of the timber into the surrounding stone masonry.
